For the Birmingham project, our team was asked to make the best use of the client's existing AV equipment from their previous office. We carried out a detailed review of the available kit to identify what could be effectively reused in the new space and what additional equipment would be needed to complete the setup.

Project Overview

After Avita excelled in the AXS London installation, we were asked to replicate the entire setup in their Birmingham office as well. The client wanted to reuse as much of their existing AV equipment as possible, so our first step was to carry out a thorough assessment of the available kit. We then produced a detailed quote for each room, incorporating any viable existing equipment and specifying the additional components required to complete the setup. The installation included Logitech Room Solutions, Sony Bravia displays, Lumens PTZ cameras, JBL speakers, and Q-SYS control systems.

Additional areas included Zoom pods equipped with client-supplied monitors, and a breakout space fitted with an 85-inch display, JBL speakers, and a wall-mounted iPad for system control, allowing for easy and intuitive operation.

Initial Cabling Works (First Fix)

The first phase focused on installing the necessary cabling infrastructure while the floors and walls were still accessible. Our engineers carefully planned the cable routes to ensure a clean and efficient setup, laying the groundwork for the successful integration of both new and existing equipment.

Equipment Installation & Integration (Second Fix)

The second fix was carried out in two key parts:

Part 1: New Hardware Deployment

We began by delivering and installing the new AV hardware at the Birmingham site. A standout moment involved transporting a 98-inch Sony Bravia display up multiple flights of stairs to the top floor—an effort that required detailed coordination and teamwork. The breakout area was fitted with an 85-inch display, JBL speakers, and an iPad mounted on the wall for control, offering a sleek and user-friendly solution. Our engineers also configured the Zoom pods, each featuring client-supplied monitors to ensure consistency with their wider UC setup.

Part 2: Integration of Existing Equipment

Alongside the new kit, we made use of the client’s existing AV equipment wherever possible. Each item was carefully assessed and incorporated into the new system to ensure full compatibility and performance. This approach helped maximise value while maintaining a consistent and high-quality AV environment across the entire office.

Outcome

The Birmingham office installation was delivered to the same high standard as the original London project. By blending trusted legacy hardware with cutting-edge new technology, we created a robust and modern AV setup that fully met the client’s expectations.
